PLC has a highly supportive Management Committee, currently made up from staff, members from the local community and representatives of the Local Authority, who act in the capacity of a Governing Body by holding very similar roles and responsibilities.

The Full Management Committee (FMC) meet 6 times per year, roughly once a term. They contribute towards the leadership of the school, offering support, as well as being able to ask those searching questions, of the leadership team about the work carried out in the school.  Members strive to have a very clear picture of what is happening in school in terms of the quality of teaching and pupils’ performance.  The management committee, together with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, manage PLC’s budget effectively and ensure that child protection and safeguarding are a priority within the school community. As part of this priority, all of our governors have an enhanced DBS certificate in place.

As well as the FMC there is also a Strategy Committee, who meet 3 times a year in order to work, with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, to strategically plan the future aims and direction of the school.

The combined experience of our committee members means that they have a clear insight into the needs of the pupils and their families.  The committee members have strong links in the school and, as a result of this, are able to forge strong working relationships with staff and pupils.
